Mud Bandits

Somehow, the kids got it in there heads that if they rubbed mud all over themselves, they suddenly became bad guys..."Bandits". They were so proud of themselves and would growl at me through the kitchen window and smear mud all over everything. You can bet I wasn't going outside, who knows what I would end up looking like after seeing those two.

Ode to Daddy

Happy Birthday to my Daddy, my favorite: lover of my children, keeper of the Christmas tree traditions, my safety net, the expert on anything (even if he has to make it up, which I LOVE by the way), faithful...to my mom, hard worker, honest, hot headed and cool under pressure, the best at bait and switch (do you want to go get icecream?...then we are in the car for hours running errands which is eventually rewarded with icecream), teacher of new flavors (kippers and bluecheese dressing), teacher of old wisdom, slow to give advice, slow to judge, steady, strong, my biggest fan, my point of reference, my go to guy, my favorite Daddy.....but sheesh, do you think I'll ever see you cry?

Midland

When the babies are in Midland, Granna will have plenty of bubble bath. She's famous for it. And the kids live for bath time at her house!

How old is Poppy?

For Poppy's 60th birthday, the whole Swift/Dean family met at the river to spend some time with the old man. Our favorite activity, besides kicking dust up in the mules, is roasting marshmallows. The sticky is so worth it! This trip we even got to eat outside on the picnic tables. What a treat!

for a good cause

Unknown to us at the time, Luke and I were on a mission to grow our hair for Locks of Love. After nearly 2 years, the task was complete. What started out as a lack of time for a much needed haircut turned into a goal to make the 10 inch march. For Luke, he was right on the money, 10" exactly. What I lacked in thicknes, I made up for in length. Add 13" to my score. The July 9th article in the Williamson County Sun read: "Luke "make me look like a republican" Swift and his sister, Bethany "a ponytail is not a hairstyle" Dean, donated their hair to Locks of Love, a charity that makes wigs for children with cancer and alopecia, last month. Mr. Swift, a Southwestern graduate, learned of Locks of Love through his work as a cancer researcher at George Washington University. Mrs. Dean, a speech pathologist, is married to GHS offensive coordinator Jason Dean and brought their one-year-old son, Tennison, along to the salon. The siblings had their locks snipped simultaneously; afterward, they attended their father's 60th birthday party."

Happy Birthday Tennison

How can a year go so by so quickly? Our baby is now a toddler and we never even saw it coming! TC had no problems digging into this cake and unlike his big sister who cried when we stuck her toes in the cake, was intrigued and delighted. Although this wasn't his first taste of the sweet life, it was definately his favorite part of the party.

Mothers Day Extravaganza

What a great day this was! Jason got the kids up and started breakfast so that I could walk into the kitchen and be greeted by smiling faces and the smell of bacon frying. And for the record, Jason is a great gift giver. I know some might look at a coffee maker and cringe (remember that scene in the new Father of the Bride) but it is exactly what I wanted and kept putting off buying for myself. Thank you honey!
We had waited long enough, we had really let time slip, and so took this day to dedicate Tennison to God and the church
All the important moms were all right here so we took them to lunch to a very girly place-La Madeline's. Jason would never pick this place on his own (the portions aren't big enough and nothing is chicken fried).

What is mother's day without my mom! I am so blessed to have a mom who wants to visit and spend time with me and the grands. Thankyou Mom, I love you!
