Hangin'

Daddy is his favorite person right now. If Daddy even walks out of the room, TC starts calling and crying. Anytime Daddy sits down, TC is in his lap. Every brown truck is Daddy's. Every phone call is Daddy. Every knock on the door is Daddy. He'd go anywhere in the world as long as he was walking next to his Daddy.

Greater gifts

I was cleaning out one of the drawers in my closet and found this old purse. When I was a Junior in High School, what I wanted most was a Dooney Burke purse. All the cool kids had one and I was never one to be left behind in the trends. Of course, my mom, working from a very tight budget, immediately nixed the idea. It was extravagant, what 16 year old needs that kind of over the top fashion statement. No, and that was the last of it. Christmas morning rolls around and the last present I open is from my Daddy, and guess what I find inside. Yeah, this purse. I could hardly stand it and my dad, of course is beaming from ear to ear. I carried that purse everyday for probably 3 years. Looking back, it was extravagant and over the top and if Emma asked for the same I would have the same reaction as my mother. But my Dad, I don't know how he did it, knew how to speak my language. I have kept this purse for all these years, tucked away, and every once in a while I come across it and I smile and even get a little teary eyed thinking about my Daddy's love for me. You know what is even cooler, even as much as my Daddy loves me and would give me anything in the world if he knew it would make me happy my heavenly Father promises that he knows even better what will make me happy and is even more willing to give me good gifts. My life proves it! Just look at the gifts I have received...my husband, my children, a mother who helps and encourages me, friends who build me up and pray for me, a Father who chose-loved-adopted-accepted-redeemed-forgave me. (Eph 1:3-7). Thank you Daddy, for all you've given me.

Caught!

"Uh, oh. Busted! What are mom and dad thinking right now. Am I gonna get it? Maybe this wasn't such a good idea. Is Mom taking pictures to use as evidence?"
"I know! I'll just flash that cute little smile of mine that makes mom giggle and I am GOOD"
"Yup, it worked. They are flashing that camara like I'm a celebrity, so I think I'll give them some more of the show!"

You Learn Something New Everyday...

Today, it's learning how to spit...
And he's amazingly good at it. Do boys just come prewired for this stuff?

I made it myself

It's amazing what a person can accomplish when they are too cheap to pay full price and no one will do it for them for free.

I picked it out myself

Emma's best friend, Tucker, was so proud of the fact that he picked out her gift all by himself. Ofcourse, he wouldn't say that but you could tell by the way he stood so attentively as she opened her gift and then he explained each item as she pulled it out of the bag.

And you could see the appreciation in her eyes as she thanked him

TC & the blower

It's never a good idea to come between a man and his power tools.

Easter 2009

I love spending Easter morning in this church. It's a simple church, not alot of fuss with sound systems and slide shows. But oh, do they have some great special lighting. The stained glass in this church is beautiful, especially the depictions of Jesus. When the morning sun shines through the windows it makes me think about what it must be like in Heaven when everthing is reflected off the Son, when He will be so bright that we can barely even look at Him. And even the light that comes from Him will make the streets look like they are made of gold. Can you imagine? This church just gets me in the mood. This Sunday I almost crawled out of my skin, trying to keep my mouth shut and not yell "Amen" when the preacher spoke. I don't even remember what he said, I was just thinking about my love, Jesus, and how awesome that first Easter morning must have been.

Our nation's capital...on a bike

On this trip to D.C. I learned that I actually DO know how to ride a bike, I just needed one that fits me. It just so happens the one that fits me also folds up into the size of a steering wheel and fits in a suitcase. There is alot of freedom, seeing the city from a bike. And since we were all wearing safety orange shirts (we never changed from the "Running of the Brides") we were sure to be seen...and stared at. Oh well, I don't know any of these people. I had the best, best, best time hanging with Luke, Shane, and Sabrina. They are just the coolest! The cherry blossoms were not the only spectacular color in D.C. All the spring colors...Absolutely surreal!
Luke is such a great host, he just does whatever I want to do for as long as I want to do it. And then when I get tired of something, he just changes plans. Thanks for being so fluid Luke, I love you!
