The Perfect Tree

Oh Christmas Tree, Oh Christmas Tree, how lovely are your branches? The landscape was a peaceful white from the newly fallen snow. If we searched long enough, we might find the tracks of a snow bunny. The temperature was almost too cold for a normal person but as a family we made the hour long hike up the slopes to find the perfect tree. Together, my husband and I found the perfect tree. The children frolicked around us as he chopped down this year's Fir, all the while imagining popcorn and cranberries strung around the branches. We needed no pack mule as Jason is a mountain of a man and strapped the tree to his back along with the youngest boy, for the journey to the homestead... Okay, so we picked the second tree we found at Lowe's in the balmy 62 degree cool of the night, threw the tree in the Jason's trailer and were home in 10 minutes. Merry Christmas Y'all!

Child labor

Jason had the children all to himself today. I was away at a "trinket show", as Jason like to call them. When I came home at 3, everyone had on work clothes and were busy...Emma was the light detangler, Tatum was the bum bulb spotter, and Tennison...well, he really wanted to be the yard boy/ladder holder. Really, anything loud or very dangerous was what he wanted to be all about. Jason and his work crew had been at it all day and the workers couldn't have been having more fun if you gave them icecream and a jump castle!

Just the Boys

On Fridays, Jason gets Tatum up and dressed and the two of them eat breakfast at Shipley's before school. What I didn't know until this morning is that they also meet their friends, Tyler & Tucker with their dad. When Jason told me about this weekly tradition, I commented that I wanted to go. Tatum immediately piped up and said, "you can't go Mom, it's just the boys". I guess I'd better get used to being left out of that club, it will happen more than I can know. But how charming is it that Jason and Tatum are making memories?

Couldn't you just eat him up. Even at this early age (20 months) Tatum loved wearing hats. Merry Christmas little sugar plum!

Craazy

Granna's here. How can you tell? Well just look at the children. You never know what craziness will occur when Granna's here. That's why the kids love her.
