Snow day...Slow day

Heavy snows closed down the Austin area for 2 days!  It was the worst snow storm in years.  The roads were treacherous, the ice undrivable, temperatures did not get above freezing and schedules were at a stand still.  Meanwhile in Georgetown...

life was picturesque.  It was like we stepped back in time.  Daddies were home and no one had anywhere better to be.  The neighborhood was quiet because there were no cars on the streets.

We played with friends and met new neighbors who shared their boogie board with us and even offered rides to the kids.

After the littles had enough of the cold, we all sat around in our pajamas and sipped hot cocoa.  Life was easy and slow this day...and we savored it!

Manly Polish?

In TC's line of reasoning, this is somehow cool and masculine because we used BOY colors...I'm not sure that Daddy is going to see it that way.

Spring Camping

Once again, the Dean family set up the tent for our annual spring 24 hours camping trip...24 hours because that is how long I want to go without running water or electricity. Fishing was the main event of the the trip and ever patient Jason baited hooks, untangled lines, and answered unending questions while the littles got their fill of the sport.
Finally, the waiting was rewarded when Emma caught the first fish of the day. (The next week, when she was doing her oral presentation in class, she explained that while camping she "caught a whopper". The tutor asked what kind of fish it was to which Emma replied, very matter of fact and confidently..."It was a whopper, that's a type of  fish.")
Of course TC had to get in on the glory and he was all too eager to claim that fish. But really, who wouldn't believe the fish tale coming from THAT face!

Stong Man

After eating 3 eggs and 2 pieces of cinnamon toast my man-cub stood and announced "I am the STONGEST little boy in the WORLD!" Just look at those...uh...muscles bulging. The definition is quite impressive and the air of confidence makes one take a step back for fear of the raw strength tied up in his little body. He is quite a speci-man. Takes after his Daddy.

Deanie Babies

"Behold, children are a gift of the Lord, the fruit of the womb is a reward. Like arrows in the hand of a warrior, so are the children of one's youth. How blessed is the man whos quiver is full of them..." Psalm 127:3-5

Texas Mud Flaps

This hare is how we do thangs round hare.  Flatbed trailer loaded with boxes full a' Christmas gear but still wontin' ta do a little mud dobbin' in the ole' family truck?  No problem.  We got some a' that ole carpet we done tore outa our house after the dawg had dem puppies.  That'll do right nicely for some mud flaps.  Everyone's starin' cause they ain't never seen no engineerin' like this, not even in the Walmarts parkin' lot.  No siree.  This here's an O-riginal D-zine.  I may even stop sellin' whiskey an playin' the lotto (even though Grandma Meg done won $50 last week) and get me one a them fancy patens.
