A hush falls over the crowd. The director signals for the performers attention. The music is qued and all eyes are on the stage. And so it begins at Carver Elementary's Thanksgiving cantata in two parts. To each song Mrs. Hanzlik has coordinated signs to words. Tatum has an especially brilliant night as he is precise with each sign. Not one is missed through the whole program. In fact, the other children are looking to him to remember their parts. I am amazed, did I mention that he sang not a word of the songs. Not a word. But who needs words when you've got your own choir backing you up. After each song he would congratulate all of the classmates around him for doing such a good job, some even got high fives.
